Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books I've Read So Far This Year

I've read a lot of great books this year. Here's a list of my favorites (in no particular order):

Life by Committee by Corey Ann Haydu

Life by Committee was a bit of an impulse buy. I've loved the cover since it was revealed, but I didn't know much about the actual story. When I saw this book sitting on the shelf at a big bookstore (which is always tempting since I rarely go there), I read the first page. I was hooked! Read my full review.

The Secrets of Lily Graves by Sarah Strohmeyer

This book was so good! It was like a cross between Pretty Little Liars and No One Else Can Have You by Kathleen Hale! Read my full review.

Don’t Call Me Baby by Gwendolyn Heasley

This was a really cute story. The characters were very real and the blogging angle was interesting. I read this one in a day. Read my full review.

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

This book is so good! It's all about friendship, self-discovery, taking chances, and so much more. This book gave me a major book hangover! Read my full review.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

This was a bit of an impulse buy as well. It was compared to one of my favorite books, but it sounded a bit too contemporary romance for me (which is a genre I really like now). Anyway, I bought this for my Kindle when it was super on sale, I think. Either way, I loved this book! I still haven't read Lola and the Boy Next Door. I just can't believe it's just as good or better than Anna (but a lot of people say that it is good/better). I will buy and read the sequel to this amazing book soonish.

Pivot Point by Kasie West

The first I heard of Pivot Point was through a free read promotional weekend on Epicreads.com. I didn't know a thing about it, except that it was written by the amazing Kasie West. Sold! This is one of my favorite books of all time! I read it in two days and then I had to buy a copy for my bookshelf.

The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

This was the first Kasie West book I ever read. I don't remember exactly how I found it, but I'm so glad I did! Kasie West is officially one of my favorite authors. I usually put my books through a pretty intensive vetting process before I decide to read them (my TBR pile is massive and I want to make the right/best choice - a bit ridiculous, I know), but there is no need to screen any of her books. If it's written by Kasie West, it's an automatic preorder!

No One Else Can Have You by Kathleen Hale

I was nervous to read this one because I heard it was kind of gruesome (it wasn't really). I didn't expect to love this book, but it was so intriguing and a bit bizarre (in a good way). I originally bought this for Kindle, but look at that cover. I just had to display it on my shelf! Side note: I also loved the character's Wisconsin accents, don'tcha know.

The Promise of Amazing by Robin Constantine

This is such a cute book! It was one of the first duel perspective books I ever read. Robin Constantine did an excellent job of capturing the voice of each character.

The Butterfly Sister by Amy Gail Hansen

This book was not what I expected. It was so much better. The characters are deep and guarded at the same time. The twists and turns of this novel will keep you reading for hours! (Disclaimer: Unlike most of the books I read, this one was adult fiction. The content may be a tad bit mature for younger teens.)
