Review: The Secrets of Lily Graves

Pretty Little Liars meets Kathleen Hale's No One Else Can Have You in Sarah Strohmeyer's page turning mystery, The Secrets of Lily Graves.

Perfect Erin Donahue isn't what she seems. Secrets, lies, and a broken heart (courtesy of her now ex-boyfriend, Matt Houser) drives her to attack Lily Graves (daughter of the local mortician and Matt's supposed crush). When Erin is found dead the next morning, Lily must sort through a web of lies before the police point a finger at her and Matt or worse, before the real killer claims another victim.

I absolutely LOVED The Secrets of Lily Graves!

Lily is such a unique character. She isn't perfect or popular, but she doesn't play the victim either. She owns her seemingly peculiar style and doesn't apologize for it.

A family of morticians. The setting of this book is super interesting. Several scenes take place in Lily's house/the mortuary and in a graveyard (but not in a dark/creepy/disturbing way). Plus, the family of female morticians (Lily, her grandma, mom, and aunt) creates an oddly fun dynamic.

Completely unexpected twist! I did NOT see that coming - couldn't have predicted it in a million years. I won't spoil anything for you, but wow...just...wow!

Though I own two other Sarah Strohmeyer books, this is the first one I've read. After reading The Secrets of Lily Graves, Smart Girls Get What They Want and How Zoe Made her Dreams (Mostly) Come True are quickly approaching the top of my TBR pile!

Have you read any Sarah Strohmeyer books? Which ones? What did you think of them?
